Here's my entry for this week's topic. I tried ink a few weeks back and I really enjoyed it so I tried it again. I am not 100% pleased with this piece. I think it's the composition and some of the line work turned out heavier than I wanted. I've realized I work much better in solitude than with my children around! But these days, I can't find much time for blogging or art.
Oh, well! I may play around with it some more or give it up completely as one of those that didn't quite turn out!
I think it is great..the lines are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen your work in other mediums, but it seems to me that ink suits you real well. Great work. It has a lot of energy.
ReplyDeleteI like it, I like it! Lots of great things to look at here. I love the way you've captured the girl's bouncy hair. And those cats! Gosh, they look like they absolutely know they're causing trouble. And loving it! Really fantastic, and brava to you for using ink. I find any permanent medium to be nervewracking!
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful! I love heavy dark lines and contrast. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteWonderful drawing, Edrian!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
Nice work, really great one!
ReplyDeleteFabulous illustration!
ReplyDeleteI really like it Edrian! I think the medium is the perfect choice for this illo. So much going on and the different textures really add to the piece. :o)
ReplyDeleteI like it very much and i find it perfect for the topic
ReplyDeleteI think it looks really good, lots of energy, great value. I don't think it is too dark. There are couple of spots that might be what's bugging you. The dark cat blends into the carpet a bit, and the girl's hair blends into the wall hanging a bit too. If you wanted you could take some white acrylic and wash it over those areas to lighten up the dark just a bit at the edges. Another thing I noticed is the white bird pops--while the cats are really the focal point.
ReplyDeleteCrazy and rambunctious illo! I really like this very much. You have a delightful style!
ReplyDeleteI like the drawing a lot, very interesting composition and spot on interpretation of the word. I think a lot of moms feel overwhelmed like this sometimes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful with great detail! love it :)

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not having much time for blogging and art these days...the holidays are sometimes a little nutty!
Have a good one!
