Well, maybe there’s one special item in the room, and that is my easel. My husband gave it to me about 10 years ago, when we were DINKS. This easel is a piece of art! It is so versatile…It can hold huge paintings or small paintings. It has so many features; I honestly don’t know how to use them all!

I also have a large cork-board where I post some of my work, some inspiration, ideas, or whatever I am working on. I bought the self-sticky cork-board tiles at Target at a reasonable price and then put them on the wall. The tiles kept falling off and I thought I would have to rip off the remaining tiles, but then I used some tiny nails to hold them in place.
I think what I like the most about the studio is that I can go and get lost in my creative world and have some peace and quiet. My husband calls it ‘my sanctuary’. I love it!
I have my computer set up in a different room that I share with my husband.

ooohhh ahhhhhh so clean and organized. Its so lovely to have your very own space isnt it! we are so lucky.
ReplyDeleteI love to see an artist's creative space! Very nice Edrian... and so tidy!
ReplyDeleteOh, I should mention that the studio is not always this clean. I took this picture after I had cleaned out the whole room. Behind me, was a big pile of garbage. ;)
ReplyDeleteoh what a great space Edrian....I love your studio....and I just read your comment...lol...you are a riot....I will have to post some of my photos...once I clean up my studio....
ReplyDeletehugs and Happy Easter!!!

Secret spaces for creation !
ReplyDeleteI'm SOOO jealous. It is a wonderful workspace. I had my own space eons ago--but with all the moving and moving into a 2 bedroom apartment--I now draw on the couch! I did treat myself to a nice tabletop easel that works out nice.
ReplyDeleteOh oh OHHHHH! Fabulous! That is one fantastic easel. So substantial! Your sanctuary is absolutely marvelous! I am several shades of green. And so smart of you to keep your computer in a separate area. I find I can lose myself for hours and hours on my keyboard. I used to have a small room in the basement that I could call my own. I could NEVER see the floor. Now, I have taken over one end of the dining room table.
ReplyDeleteClever to pile all the garbage behind you...LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have the space to even do that. This makes me want to clean up my space and get a better display system....oh, I can dream. :)
Thanks for sharing. Among my favorite magazines are "Studio" and "Where Women Create". I love to peek inside other artists' studios. I was so inspired by the most recent issue of Studio, I am planning a revamp of my art room that will include my new sewing machine!
ReplyDeletelooks like you are in assembly mode! Love to see your space!
