IF: VACANT

Here are two quick drawings for this week's IF. I was waiting at the hair dresser's and finished them both under 30 minutes. They are not great technically, but I just wanted to convey the idea since I won't really have time to do a full illustration this week.

This one was inspired by the situation that many Americans are facing having to leave their houses because of tough economic times.

This second drawing is more of a literal interpretation... 'empty nest' or 'vacant nest' - and I'm glad I'm a years away from living through this milestone!

You have two nice ideas for vacant. The first one though cute is a sad reflection of what is occurring in our country! The second one is cute as well, I am also an empty nest-er.

Hi Edrian...these are wonderful!!! great interpretation of the theme....

I am so glad I am far away from the empty nest milestone too...I just love when they are young and sweet....

I like your illustrations! I thought about drawing a nest or an empty birdhouse just because my yard is beginning to look to wintery. Yours turned out really well.

for quick sketches you do some nice work. what the images convey are so true and conjure up stories that I think for all of us somewhere along the line have happened or we think about. great stuff
