RECYCLE ILLUSTRATION

Here is the recycle illustration in color. I had so much fun coloring this image. I played around with the channels in Photoshop and had a softer effect on the overall image. I'm not sure which one I like better, so I'm posting them both. I'm also not sure about the text. Hmm??? You tell me what you think!

I like the composition, colors and figures. I too am not sure about the text. Are you doing this for something specific? I think that the recycle symbol on the box is universal enough to communicate the concept without the text. If the text is necessary I think a different location would be better. As is it kind of squares off the composition and makes a little static.

Hello my friend! I really like the first one, the colors are stronger and more dynamic. However, on the second one, there is a softness around the grassline that is very appealing. It almost seems like there is a light source coming from behind the hill. It's interesting.
The text is OK but seems like it is just hanging in the white space. If you didn't have any text, it would seem like there is room for text for a book and it could be used in your portfolio? Maybe make up some text? Unless this is an ad, I say get rid of the "Recycle." Since you asked and all...

Hope you have a great weekend!

I prefer the first one. The colors are more defined. I think it is better for this kind of illustration

You have very good drawing skills.
I too, think the first one with the bolder linework is preferable. As for the text...I agree with the comment about moving it. I think it should be integrated into the drawing more and also a little bolder. I would do something to add a little movement (alluding to the action in recycling) to it like swing it on a french curve, maybe.
Or you might be able to get some action in the decender of the y as related to the c's.
When you do all that, of course, there will be a weak spot in the composition but that's what trees, clouds, etc. are made for:)
Again, you do very nice work.

I'm so thankful for all your comments. I agree about the first one with the more defined outlines. It really helps everything pop more, and reading all your comments reassures my thinking. I also agree I need to fix the text or perhaps remove it all together.
