IF: PIONEER

Little did Timmy know that he was the first kid to ever hop on a dragon! He was a pioneer!

This is an idea that I've had for a while, and with this week's IF prompt I thought it would be appropriate. I wasn't sure if to dress up the boy with a different outfit as if he was part of dragon land or to make it obvious that this is his imagination, therefore he is in PJ's. What do you think?
I'll be coloring this soon and re-posting.

Congrats to Vanessa for winning a signed print of my work!

Happy New Year to all! and may 2010 bring you health, happiness and success! I cannot complaint about 2009 as it was very good to me and my family.

Great composition going on here. I think the PJ's are fine--it really depends on the story setting, like you say.

Great drawing! One of my favorite animals to sketch.

I'd like to see different expressions on both the boy and dragon, as if they are on some great first adventure together, or that the dragon at least has a destination in mind, if only to take the boy on a wild ride. Right now they both look a bit puzzled as to what to do next.

I like that you have the boy in his PJs, and the detailing is really nice. Can't wait to see it colored! :)

Happy New Year!

Edian, I LOVE it, I LOVE it! I've had a similar image thumping around in my brain. I hope I can execute it even a fraction as well as you did. And yes to the PJs. ANYTHING is better in PJs! Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope it's filled with good health and lots of joy and love. I hope next year is YOUR year where all your dreams come true.
