IF: PACKED

FINAL UPDATE:
Here it is... my animal bunch eating some packed lunches. I thought I wasn't going to finish it. My kids have been sick and I have bronchitis :( , but what a great feeling to be able to post it finished and then move on to other stuff... like decorating my house for Halloween!
Oh, I so agree with your comments, those kids did look kinda stressed out! I am much happier with these animals.

Work in progress....

Color Study

I'm still working on colors and composition and will post the finished product later this week.
Thanks for visiting!

UPDATE: I guess this is what happens when you see the process... I completely changed my mind! These little animal creatures kept popping up in my head and I kept thinking that it would be so much fun to draw them. The overall composition is the same, but I think this looks more fun! I still have to paint it on illustration board, but here is the general idea:

I like the animals better. They look like they are having fun. The people in the figure based one all look a little stressed. I think there is something funny going on where heads meet shoulders. (That is my nemisis spot...) I noticed it first on the teacher. Her head looks fine and her body looks fine but somehow they aren't playing quite right together.

These are so wonderful, both of them, but of course I have a soft spot for animals so you know I am going to pick that one...the little seal/walrus guy is my FAVE, I am in love with his cute little face!!!

Heeheeee, I nearly fell off my chair! I was admiring the first painting for being real to life, but then I scrolled down and BAM, they got turned into animals. It was like watching an episode of Bewitched! I think both are nicely done, but the animal one looks SOOOO happy. I'd rather go to that school.

Lovely clean illustrations, I think i like the animal one better too, I love drawing animals too, I think it is because we don't see a lot of them everyday (unless we work in a zoo) and we don't often see them eating a packed lunch either! Nice colours too.

I LOVE how it turned out Edrian!

I really like the way you draw animals. You have an unique style and they are a perfect mixture of cute and kind of funny too. If I can suggest something... if I were you I would have more animal images in my portfolio. They are really wonderful!!
