Oh, boy, I know this look well. It's usually accompanied by the never-ending mantra, "When are they coming, Mom?" So heartbreaking to see your kid disappointed, isn't it? Great job at capturing a not-so-golden moment! :)
I hope for his mom's sake his playdate does show up. Great job on the expression. (his body looks just a little off balance to me--maybe he's about to jump up? Something about where his weight is.)
great expression on this guy, edrian! very nice piece. thanks for your comment on my recent work and for including me in your "blogs I read" section. i'm honored! i've been using photoshop for all my illos and hopefully now that i'm learning illustrator, i can use it most of the time. i think it will be much faster! drawing curves with the pen tool certainly is challenging! do use that or the pencil?
