Illustration Friday: Late

This boy is upset because his play-date is late and he was looking forward to racing cars on his special race track!
Let's hope the other boy shows up!

You know you shouldn't keep your guest waiting like this. I'm sure he'll find something to do. What a great style and look on his face!!!!! Looks just like my daughter when her friends are late. Very nice illo.

Oh, boy, I know this look well. It's usually accompanied by the never-ending mantra, "When are they coming, Mom?" So heartbreaking to see your kid disappointed, isn't it? Great job at capturing a not-so-golden moment! :)

Oh goodness, he does look a bit miffed now doesn't he?! Let's hope the others show up or a tantrum may be forthcoming. Great illo!

I hope for his mom's sake his playdate does show up. Great job on the expression. (his body looks just a little off balance to me--maybe he's about to jump up? Something about where his weight is.)

great expression on this guy, edrian! very nice piece. thanks for your comment on my recent work and for including me in your "blogs I read" section. i'm honored! i've been using photoshop for all my illos and hopefully now that i'm learning illustrator, i can use it most of the time. i think it will be much faster! drawing curves with the pen tool certainly is challenging! do use that or the pencil?
